Miranda Scott

Miranda Scott received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Arts in Legal Studies, and Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of Illinois at Springfield. Ms. Scott has held various roles in the nursing clinical arena including student mentor, manager, and educator. She joined the Office of Women’s of Health and Family Services team at the Illinois Department of Public Health in June 2015. In September 2021, Ms. Scott transitioned to her new role as School Health Program Administrator. In her previous government service, Ms. Scott has worked as a Legal Nurse Consultant enjoying various advisory roles including Freedom of Information Officer and HIPAA Privacy Officer.


Theresa Zumba

Theresa Zumba joined the Illinois State Board of Education in April 2021 as a School Nurse Consultant. Prior to entering school nursing Theresa worked both in and outpatient psychiatric nursing and pediatric endocrinology fields. Theresa then transitioned to working as a building school nurse (preschool to grade 2) in a three-school district in a suburb of Chicago. Theresa earned her IEP designation and then went on to earn her PEL CSN from Mennonite College of Nursing. She brings varied experience to the field of school nurse consulting.


Becky Doran

Rebecca (Becky) Doran as School Nurse Consultant is an advocate for implementing Whole School, Whole Child, and Whole Community (WSCC) model strategies for the youth in Illinois Schools. She joined Illinois State Board of Education, following experiences in Higher Education, Community Health and Emergency/Urgent Care settings. It is her desire to integrate administrative concepts of public health and healthcare into the school setting, while enhancing the school environment through holistic supports for all members of the school community. She is a contributing author to two published articles related to pediatric case management and nursing education in the school setting.
