School Nurse Emergency Care Course

August 4, 2021 @ 8:00 am - September 4, 2021 @ 5:00 pm

Illinois Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) is pleased to announce that an online School Nurse Emergency Care (SNEC) course is now available.  This online training is based on the original in-person, 3-day SNEC course and is designed to enhance the assessment, triaging, and treatment skills of the school nurse when confronted with the acutely ill or injured student.

The course is comprised of 17 course modules and 5 skill demonstrations, so the course will take several sittings to complete.  Successful completion of the course requires completion of all 17 modules, 5 skill demonstration videos, a passing score of at least 84% on the course exam, and completion of the course evaluation.  Thirteen (13) continuing education hours are provided through an Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) site code (applicable for Illinois nurses).

There is no registration fee.  The course is hosted by the University of Illinois Public Health Learning platform.  You can access course information via the EMSC website at: https://www.luriechildrens.org/en/emergency-medical-services-for-children/education/school-nurses/snec—online-course/
