Description:
The Certified School Nurse participates in the provision of a coordinated school health program including the delivery of services to students and staff members in order to enhance health and wellness in the school community. Duties are to be performed in accordance with standards of professional school nurse practice, district/ state board of education policies and procedures and Illinois State law regarding nurse practice. Responsibilities include, among others, assessing the health and safety needs of the school, maintaining school health records, providing health information and counseling to the school community, providing crisis intervention for students and staff in the advent of sudden illness or injury.

Qualifications:

- Valid Illinois State Board of Education Professional Educator License with School Nurse endorsement
- Valid Illinois Registered Nurse license
- Current CPR and AED certifications
- Illinois vision/hearing screening technician credentials preferred.
- Technology literacy
- Prior professional nursing experience
