Description – Hope Learning Academy is seeking a Certified School Nurse (ISBE certified) to join our team. Hope is one of only 12 Certified Healthy Schools in the Chicago Public School system. We take pride in providing a Certified School Nurse who is dedicated to one school and can develop relationships with students, staff and families. There is no residency requirement for this position. Full-time is preferred, but part-time will be considered.

Responsibilities – Under the direction of the Case Manager and administrative staff, the School Nurse will coordinate health services for the students of Hope Learning Academy. The Certified School Nurse will serve as a team member in providing services to promote health, safety and educational success. The School Nurse provides staff training related to student health, promotes health and safety, and intervenes with actual and potential health problems. The nurse will provide educational evaluation and instructional judgment for students being evaluated or reevaluated for special education services and will attend IEP meetings for students as needed.
