DESCRIPTION:Nitty Gritty School Nursing: Care of Children with Medical Complexity – School Nurses Workshop\nJune 16\, 2022 \n9:00 AM -1:30 PM \nLocation: UI Springfield College of Nursing Simulation Lab \nNurses will receive instruction on common skills required to care for children with medical complexity.  Skills include: \n\nClean Intermittent Catheterization; male\, female\, stoma\nTracheostomy Care and suctioning\nFeeding tubes\nCentral Venous Catheter Care\n\nPrior to the workshop participants will receive copies of skills checklists and narrated PowerPoints to prepare for the workshop. \nAt the workshop participants will receive hands-on-instruction and practice the skills with supervision in the simulation lab. \nParticipants will be requested to complete a pretest prior to the workshop and complete a posttest and workshop evaluation prior to receiving nursing continuing education credits. \nUp to 6 Continuing nursing education credits hours have been applied for from the Illinois Nurses Foundation in accordance with ANCC criteria. \nCost: $50.00/IASN MEMBER & $65.00/NON MEMBER \nAttendance is limited to 30 participants! NO REFUNDS WILL BE OFFERED AFTER REGISTERING.
