Laura Lynn Rochkes (MS) Midstate Division

The Illinois School Nurse of the Year award was established by Ruth E. Sanders, RN, PhD. Dr. Sanders, Director of Health Services at Centralia High School in Centralia, IL, was a member of Southern Division, and then Central Division after that large geographical area was divided into two divisions.

She submitted her dissertation "History of the Illinois Association of School Nurses: The Formative Years" in July 1979 as partial fulfillment of the requirements for her doctorate at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.
