POSITION STATEMENT

School Nurse to Student Ratio

It is IASN’s position that the ratio of school nurses to students should be adequate to safely meet the health needs of students. Healthy People 2010 and NASN’s Position Statement on Caseload Assignments (http://www.nasn.org/Default.aspx?tabid=209) identify appropriate ratios for this purpose.

Therefore, IASN adopts NASN’s position on Caseload Assignments as the recommended school nurse to student ratio.
